The Dirty Picture

The dirty picture : a film by director Milan Luthria  and producer shobha kapoor and ekta kapoor ostensibly based on the life of south indian heroin silk smitha is commendable. Protagonist vidya balan is truly a versatile and meritorious actoress. In all the praise goes to the whole casting team. Just loved the excessive dialogbazzi , 80s ka look and feel a recreation of that era and especially the "after the interval" portion.

The concept of the mid-1980s. An ageing, vain superstar is surrounded by his cronies as a script writer narrates to him a story about an orphan. 'This orphan hero angle is so '60s,' cuts in the star. 'Let’s give the hero a family for a change. Let’s give him a sister too. Then let’s get her raped.' Everyone around can’t stop marveling at the idea. The writer is impressed too. 'Let’s make this movie,' he says.hahahaha

Coming Down to "Silk Amitha"(played by Vidya Balan) whose real name was "vijaylakshmi". The movie cronicles the off screen life of her that the sex-symbol "silk" who gained fame in her late 1980s movies for her notority , raw sensuality and sexually charged roles in the time of conservative heroine films. It portrays that along with all this she was so soft cornerned also. The anecdote biopics sketches her as a fighter, a strugler which she was. Impaired by the jeopardy she commited suicide at the age of 33. Two fact still goes : Male dominates and females mar.

Concluding: "Filmey sirf teen cheezoon ke wajah se succesful hoti hai- entertainment, entertainment, entertainment".. and that all was in it. The concept portrail was exact and this statement says it all.
