Now, this blog of mine is dedicated to our all time leader Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabhudin Adbul Kalam, the twelfth President of India, the one I respect the most, personally.
Started his autobiography Wings of Fire with the lines:
Sea waves,Golden sand, Pilgrims' faith,
Rameswaram mosque Street, all merge into one,
My mother...!!
and then continues with his life participations and ideologies, worth cherishing for anyone...
born is a middle class Tamil family on 15th October, 1931... he describes his father shri Jainulabdeen Marakayar as one with neither much formal education nor wealth but full of wisdom and generosity of spirit. He mentioned dat he normally used to eat with his mother Shrimati Ashiamma, sitting on the floor of the kitchen.
Among many, who influenced his childhood.. he recalls Ahmed Jallaludin who became his friend despite the 15 yrs of age difference. He said " Jallaludin always spoke to me about educated people, of scientific discoveries, of contemporary literature and of achievements of medical science... It was he who made me aware of the world above his narrow confines". I have always believed that the kind of talks that a child is exposed to inclines their intrest to a greater angle.Jallaludin's simple discussions encouraged him to read and Azad started visiting his home to borrow books.
Another person who influenced his boyhood was his first cousin, Samsuddin, a newspaper distributor..becoz of his incompetence in reading printed matter at dat age.. he used to glance at the pictures in the newspaper..Once Samsuddin needed a helping hand for his job and azad filled for the slot..He worked with him and that he describes as "Half a century latter I cud feel da surge of pride in earning my own money for the first time".. Well I can very well sense this as I had da similar kinda feeling when I used to get the money every evening on per day basis at a movie's shooting...:)...
He then tell about his schooling and that he moved to a boarding school, about homesickness , his science teacher. He then joined the madras institute of technology where paying the fee of Rs.1000 was an expensive affair and was paid by his sister who mortaged her jewelry.. Their were setbacks, disappointments and distractions, bt his father's inspiring words kept anchoring him in those period. he found aerounotics a fascinating subject, containing within it the promise of freedom.Excerpts from his book: The great difference betweenfreedom and escape, between motion and movement, between slide and flow are the secrets of this science...
My di had read this book before me and she told that In his book more than his own life Kalam had discussed bout his spacecraft's problems and solutions.. that was funny to listen but when i happened to read this I found that these were actually his life as so is all reflected in the book... after his college began his dedicated effoerts to this stream and towards Indian space technology.. He worked in organisations Like ISRO(18 yrs) and DRDO.... and never failed to apply the physics anywhere..
He believes that we differ in the way we make our choices and evolve our destiny.. and at each step of his life he had been showing it and with great courage and dedication....he remembers each any every help he got from others and is thankful to them...
the book is a great inspiration and it feels so gud having been channeled under such an eminent personalty as a President of our country... Decades after reading this blog U'll remember these lines.."Very rarely we get such shade to shadow us" and we should be aware enough to pay our gratitude to them and try n learn to assimilate as much as we can.....
